Lukanand is an International Pageant Titleholder, Actor, Film Director and Producer, from North East India who works in India and overseas in Southeast Asia, primarily Philippines
He started his filmmaking journey since 2008, working as one of the youngest directors in the Indian Films, primarily Manipuri. He is the recipient of State Government Award and the Best Film Director award for his full-length feature film "Meitan Araba" in SSS Manifa 2018. During his initial journey, he was mentored by the Eminent filmmaker Shri. Aribam Syam Sharma, under whose guidance he directed various films.
For more than a decade in the field of directing and production and a notable collection of awards to his credits, Lukanand owns a film production studio and has also been involved in overseas production projects.
In the field of modelling and pageantry, Lukanand was awarded with the title of "Mister International" under the Mister International Organization, (headquarter in the Philippines).
He has been working in and abroad India with some of the established and global brands, including various Indian Government projects.
Lukanand underwent various acting classes from the alumni of National School Of Drama. Since 2016, he has been learning and experimenting

Lukanand directed the MI Opening Billboards Video featuring models from different countries in fitness and formal wear.

GOVERNMENT PROJECT
Lukanand directed the documentary film for the official visit of the Vice President Of India to the Institute Of Bioresources And Sustainable Development.
The project, produced under the IBSD, The Ministry Of Science & Technology , Government Of India, marked a significant milestone in his career, elevating his work to a more official and professional level.
National Seminar on Bioeconomy from Bioresources of North Eastern Region of India which was graced by Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri M Venkaiah Naidu.
The seminar was also attended by Hon’ble Governor, Shri La Ganesan, Prof. Pulok Mukherjee Director IBSD, and other prominent scholars.

AT THE AGE OF 16
Lukanand premiered his Centre Board Of Film Certificate acknowledged
debut feature film, "Meitan Araba"at the Movie theater, MFDC, Palace Compound in India.
The theater was packed to houseful during the grand premiere of the movie "Meitan Araba" directed by Lukanand. The premiere was inaugurated by the eminent filmmaker Shri. Aribam Syam Sharma.
The film revolved around the beautiful relationship between a father and son, highlighting themes of love and humanity. The Director of Photography, the National Award-winning Irom Maipak, captured the essence of the story flawlessly. The main cast featured numerous seasoned actors from the region.
After its initial screening, the film "Meitan Araba" directed by Lukanand won the prestigious Best Film and Best Director awards, as well as several other awards at the SSS Manifa organized by Sahitya Seva Samiti.
The State Government Film Festival (MSFF) held at the palace Compound also awarded the film with the debut feature film award and other five awards.
With a total of over 24 awards and official nominations, "Meitan Araba" has cemented its position as a standout in Lukanand's directorial career.
LUKANAND EARNED THE DISTINCTION OF BEING AN AWARD WINING DIRECTOR

At a very young age of 16, Lukanand won the best director award for his debut feature film “Meitan Araba” at the SSS Manifa 2019 organized by Sahitya Seva Samiti. The film also won the Best Film Awards and other 7 awards and 11 Nominations.

HISTORY
Lukanand’s passion for movies emerged early in his life, evident even at the age of six when he began creating short movies using his father's phone camera with the help of local people.
In 2010, dreaming of an upgrade, Lukanand used his savings from his little piggy bank to rent a Sony camcorder - the most popular camera used by the professionals of the time.
He directed his first short film "Thambal Pareng" featuring all non-professional actors and crew members.
From a curious child experimenting with a camera to an award winning filmmaker and producer, Lukanand's journey exemplifies his dedication, resilience, and foresight.
As he progresses in his craft, Lukanand remains devoted to his origins, striving always to uplift and empower his community through the transformative medium of cinema.
When Lukanand was approximately 10 years old, the transition from camcorders to DSLR cameras marked a notable shift in the regional film industry.
Eager to enhance his craft, he began engaging with fellow film aficionados and industry experts to deepen his understanding of filmmaking.
In a short span of time, Lukanand's production "Ashengba Shaktam" (The True Face) made its debut on local television channels.
This film served as a platform to illuminate the significance of the Manipuri Ningol Chakkouba festival.

In the pursuit of Lukanand's visionary aspirations to establish a renowned film academy in the upcoming era, He initiated and organized filmmaking courses through his production company to offer professional learning in acting, directing, cinematography, script development, and more.
More than one hundred participants received training from esteemed industry figures, acclaimed professionals, and technical specialists through master classes and hands-on sessions. Several projects conceived during these workshops were subsequently produced by his production entity.
The participants of the workshop were exposed to a diverse range of perspectives and techniques, as renowned industry experts and accomplished filmmakers were invited to share their knowledge and experiences. This allowed the aspiring filmmakers to gain valuable insights into the industry and learn from the best in the field. COMMERCIAL MOVIE
At the age of 13, Lukanand embarked on a journey into the realm of commercial movies, showcasing his passion on the film market. Driven by a desire to foster cross-cultural appreciation in the North East region, Lukanand took on the directorial task of creating a bilingual feature film set in the enchanting landscapes of Assam and Manipur.
For the filming, Lukanand visited Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland to associate with the various industry experts, artists, and media of the neighbouring states.
The collaborative project was instrumental in Lukanand's glamour approach in Cinema.

A CAUSE
In 2018, Lukanand worked on a creative project "Ho Ema" project to raise awareness about drug abuse among the youth in the state. The project includes travelling to different parts of the state, meeting and working with the addicts and their families.
The project resulted in the release of a music video, created by crew members which included the victims themselve. This provided an opportunity for healing and social participation to the strugglers. This project enables Lukanand to utlise his creative platform for a better cause.
Lukanand's approach to filmmaking is a creative blend of visual storytelling and emotional depth. His cinematic perspectives often focus on the intricacies of human relationships and the raw authenticity of life's moments.

Lukanand embarked on his journey to learn the Art of Acting in 2015 under the guidance of his mentor, Smt. S. Thaninleima, an esteemed alumna of the National School of Drama, New Delhi.
With unwavering determination, he patiently dedicated nearly a decade to his learning.
However, 2025 will mark Lukanand's career as an actor as he is currently under filming for his journey as an actor.

HISTORY
Lukanand's love for the art of acting flourished as he embarked on his journey as a director. Despite his extensive background in film directing, he never actively pursued an opportunity to become an actor. Instead, he firmly believes in the importance of learning the Art professionally.
In 2015, he took the initiative to organize filmmaking workshops under his production company. However, he didn't stop there. Lukanand immersed himself in the same Acting Classes as a participant, demonstrating his commitment to gaining a deeper understanding of the Art.
His dedication to honing his craft eventually led him to showcase his talent as an artist in the contemporary play "Folktale" at the renowned Nachom Arts and Contemporary Movements Center.
This opportunity of his training and experience to the test, further solidifying his passion for acting. Throughout the span of a decade, Lukanand has wholeheartedly dedicated himself to exploring the art of acting. He has pursued a combination of professional training and hands-on experience, constantly pushing himself to grow and evolve as an actor.
